主题:Modelling Strategies for FRP Bonded Interfaces
Scott Smith, Dean of Engineering and Foundation Professor of Engineering at Southern Cross University, Australia. He was awarded BE (Civil, 1994) and PhD (Structural Engineering, 1999) degrees from the University of New South Wales, Australia, and he was formerly an Associate Professor at the University of Hong Kong. Professor Smith is Senior Vice President of the International Institute for FRP in Construction (IIFC), and he is Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, IIFC, and Engineers Australia. Professor Smith’s research interests include the repair and strengthening of concrete, metallic and timber structures with advanced composite materials, as well as sustainable material development.
内容简介:The ability to model the behaviour of the bond between fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) composites and substrate materials such as concrete and timber is of major importance to the successful design of an FRP strengthening system. This talk will present an overview of the speaker’s research on the modelling of FRP-concrete and FRP-timber bonded interfaces over the past several years. Finite element modelling, partial interaction modelling and semi-empirical modelling methodologies will be presented. The capabilities and constraints of the models will be discussed and model predictions will be compared with test data.
