There are six undergraduate majors of industrial design, product design, environmental design, art and technology, visual communication design and digital media art in School of Artistic Design. The School has a young energetic teacher team. The proportion of professors and associate professors has exceeded 62%. They graduated from Academy of Fine Arts in Tsinghua University, Southeast University, Tongji University, Nanjing University of the Arts, Beijing Film Academy, Jiangnan University, Soochow University, Academy of Art University, Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design of University of the Arts London, Kyoto Seika University, and many other famous universities. They are engaged in teaching and researching on product design, environment design, landscape design, display design, visual communication design and theory, etc.
The School recruits postgraduate of four research directions on "landscape design and theory, display design and theory, interior space design and theory, urban public art design and theory" at master pilot of environmental design and theory; The School recruits postgraduate of three research directions on "industrial product system design and theoretical research, interaction design and theoretical research, cultural and creative product design and theoretical research" at master pilot of industrial design and theory. The School actively carries out the foreign academic exchanges, perennially hires well-known professors in domestic and foreign countries to guide the teaching, and hires foreign teachers to teach or hold lectures. The school has established friendly cooperative relationship with Munich University of Applied Science and Technology, California Polytechnic State University, the University of Nottingham, Chaoyang University of Technology and other universities, then mutually sends teachers and students for exchange and study. The employment of undergraduate and postgraduate is good, which is mainly in design institute, design research institute, institution of higher learning, real estate company, decorating company, advertising company, television station, large scale website, Sunning Group, China Resources Suguo, other large scale enterprises, public institutions and groups.
In recent years, the employment rate of the School has always been kept at 100%. The School has seven laboratories of "computer room, model, sculpture, pottery, silk screen, photography" and one professional book reference room. The School’s teachers have hosted and completed many research topics of National Social Science Fund, Humanities and Social Fund in Ministry of Education, Social Science Fund in Jiangsu Province, etc. There are hundreds of academic papers which are published on CSSCI Chinese core journal and Beijing Book Chinese core journal. Besides, many research monographs and textbooks have been published publicly.
