Dr. Jerry Hogle, the vice-president of University of Arizona (UA), leading a group of eleven members, visited NJUT in the afternoon of May 20th. Prof. Liu Weiqing, the vice-president of NJUT, met the delegation in Conference Room 302, the Administrative Building of Hongqiao campus, and had a further talk about the potential cooperation.
First of all, Dr. Jerry Hogle was very happy to revisit NJUT and looked forward to having a discussion on the specific contents of the two universities' cooperation. Vice-president Liu warmly welcomed the delegation's visit to NJUT again, and stated that he had faith in the broader cooperation.
Both sides discussed the possibility of developing communication among the students, teachers and administrators. With regard to the students' communication, they planned to adopt the "2+2"and "4+1"cooperation model; In terms of the teachers' communication, it was mainly to promote cooperated scientific research; and for the administrator, and both sides intended to select some administrators who have certain English competence to take the short-term job to the opposite side in the relevant field. Both vice presidents agreed on selecting some special subjects to start substantial cooperation. They also exchanged views on the planning of jointed –founding Yangtze International University.
