On June 30, 2007, NJUT held a grand rally in the auditorium of Dingjiaqiao campus, mobilizing energy conservation, and celebrating the establishment of the Colleges of Environment and Energy. Mr. He Quan, vice Governor of Jiangsu Provincial People's Government attended the meeting and cut the red ribbon for the two newly established colleges.

President OUYANG Pingkai pointed out that the recombination of the related disciplines and the establishment of the Colleges of Environment and Energy would promote interdisciplinary integration, develop the two disciplinary progress and better serve the local economic and social development.
