In the afternoon of August 30th, the unveiling ceremony of the firstPatentAgent Training & Research Center(Jiangsu) of the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO)was held on the campus of NJUT.The ceremony was attended by many leaders and representatives of SIPO, Jiangsu IPO, Jiangsu Provincial Government and some Patent Agencies.
Secretary Wang Deming delivered a speech at the unveiling ceremony. He made a brief introduction to the history, characteristics and achievements of NJUT, and elaborated on its achievements of training, research and practice in intellectual property rights. Secretary Wang stated that NJUT will strongly support the construction of the Training & Research Center.
Zhu Bulou, Deputy Secretary-General of Jiangsu Provincial Government also made an important speech at the ceremony. He pointed out that an excellent intellectual property work and the personnel training is very crucial to the changing of the economic growth style when Jiangsu Province is at an important stage of the construction of an innovative province. He hoped that NJUT will strengthen the infrastructure construction of the center, equip it with professional teachers, integrate high-quality teaching resources, lay more emphasis on the internal management, establish evaluation mechanism, set up a systematic, standardized patent agent training and effectively improve the quality of teaching and research. Moreover, some related provincial departments will provide qualified service to co-build the Center into a research institution with distinctive characteristics and remarkable achievements.The establishment of the Centermarks a new stage of patent agent personnel training in Jiangsu Province.
