Academician and President Huang Wei was appointed "Distinguished University Visiting Professor" by Hong Kong Baptist University on December 26.

President Huang Wei delivered an academic lecture entitled "Recent Advances in Organic optoelectronics" and a special report entitled "Leaping Development through Synergistic Innovation - A Successful Practice of Nanjing Tech University". He elaborated on the exploration and achievements of his research team of Organic Optoelectronics in recent years and shared his philosophy of education and university governance with the teachers and students of HKPU. He made a detailed introduction to NanjingTech's strategic goal of building a "Comprehensive, Research-Oriented and Globalized University" and the great achievements NanjingTech had made through synergetic innovation. The audience was deeply impressed by his vivid narration, special perspective and insightful thinking.

During his visit, President Huang held a meeting with Prof. Rick Wong, Vice-President (Research & Development) of HKPU. He hoped to expedite the collaborations with Hong Kong Baptist University in research and education in areas of mutual interests and sincerely invite HKBU teachers and students to visit NanjingTech. As pointed by President Huang, NanjingTech is on its way to build a "Comprehensive, Research-Oriented and Globalized University" and would carry out tangible cooperation in fields like Political Science and International Relations with HKBU which has considerable expertise in Humanities and Social Sciences. President Huang hoped that the initiative cooperation between two universities could become a model of cooperation between Mainland and Hong Kong Universities.

President Huang's visit greatly promoted the publicity of NanjingTech's leaping development in recent years to universities and academic communities in Hong Kong and facilitated NanjingTech's potential collaborations with Hong Kong universities and research institutions.
