Consulate General of Ireland in Shanghai Visited NanjingTech for Ireland Day

Academician and President Huang Wei met with Mr. Austin Gormley, Consulate General of Ireland in Shanghai who visited Nanjing Tech University for Ireland Day on March 18th. Other attendees for the meeting include John Vickery, Provost of Institute of Technology, Tallaght, Pat Coman, Head of Development & External Services, ITT, Prof. Jiang Juncheng, Vice President of NanjingTech and deans or directors of related college or departments.

Academician and President Huang Wei first extended his warm welcome and greeting to Mr. Austin Gormley for the St Patrick's Day - National Day of Ireland and his gratitude for Mr. Austin Gormley's support of the long-term cooperation between NanjingTech and Institute of Technology, Tallaght. President Huang reviewed the history of bilateral collaboration between two universities and was satisfied with the achievement in joint educational programs. As he pointed out, joint educational programs are becoming increasingly recognized by Chinese students and their parents. These programs are also the important windows of NanjingTech's globalization strategy and will develop steadily and win over more support in the future.

Mr. Austin Gormley was also satisfied with the cooperation between NanjingTech and ITT and he anticipated more collaborative potentials between two universities. He invited President Huang to visit Ireland at his convenience.

After the meeting, President Huang Wei and Mr. Austin Gormley watched the wonderful performance by the teachers and students of Overseas Education College and some Irish teachers.
