"China will make significant breakthrough in the fundamental and applied research of optoelectronics, materials and energy and play a leading role in the research of the combination of carbon and optoelectronics in the next five to ten years," said Academician and President Huangwei who is also the iSOME Chair on the Opening Ceremony of iSOME 2015 on June 3rd.
The iSOME 2015 was sponsored by he National Jiangsu Synergetic Innovation Center for Advanced Materials, Key Laboratory for Organic Electronics & Information Displays (KLOEID), Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Plastic Electronics and attended by more than 30 outstanding researchers from universities and research institutions of countries and regions such as America, Germany, Australia, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, India and Hong Kong and world-famous publishers such as Nature and Wiley with its total attendance of nearly 200.
"One-thousand-mile journey may seem not that long with good companions," said Chair Huang Wei in his speech on the opening ceremony. He extended his warm welcome to experts form both home and abroad and sincere gratitude for the strong endorsement of the Qixia Government. As he pointed out, iSOME 2015 would focus on the frontier research of optoelectronic materials and devices, information display and storage, chemical and biological sensors and nano-materials and would further promote the development of optoelectronics, materials and energy.
Mr. Cao Lianhai, Deputy-chief of Qixia District, expressed his congratulations to the success of iSOME 2015. He reviewed the enormous research achievement made by the research team of IAM led by Academician and President Huang Wei and said Qixia District is an intelligence and technology intensive area in Jinagsu Province and is the forefront of Nanjing Strategic Emerging Industries and Modern Productive Service Industries. Qixia is now committed to building the export-oriented manufacturing industries, promoting the aggregation of Near-Harbor industries and froging Qixia into a Harbor Hub Economic Zone.
During the four-day symposium, experts form both home and abroad will have 40 seminars and iSOME 2015 will be a good opportunity to strengthen the collaboration with famous overseas universities and research institutions and promote the leaping development of NanjingTech.
