Academician and President Huang Wei attended the 6thChinese-Russian Workshop on Laser Physics and Photonics on the invitation of Russian Academy of Sciences from August 25thto 30th. As pointed out by Prof. Huang Wei in his opening address as the Chinese Chair, the friendship between Chinese and Russian people has a long history. Both countries are undergoing national revivals and regard each other as strategic partner who can offer important opportunities for development. Prof. Huang reviewed the history, present and future of organic photo-electronics and introduced the research achievements of his team in plastic electronics. His attendance on the workshop has made a positive role in promoting the cooperation between two countries and boosting the image of NanjingTech.
The 6thChinese-Russian Workshop on Laser Physics and Photonics, attracting more than 100 experts and researchers from universities and research institutions including Nankai University, Nanjing Tech University, CAS Institute of Semiconductors, Moscow State University and Institute of Laser Physics, Russian Academy of Sciences, focuses on the frontier research of Laser Physics and Photonics such as Quantum and Atomic optics, Fiber optics and fiber laser, Solid laser and laser system and nonlinear optic crystal.
During the workshop, Prof. Huang Wei met with Prof. Michail Fedoruk, Rector of Novosibirsk State University and signed an inter-university MoU which paved the way for the future collaboration between two universities.
After the 6thChinese-Russian Workshop on Laser Physics and Photonics, Academician and President Huang Wei visited Lomonosov Moscow State University, the Institute for Spectroscopy of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Technological Institute for Superhard and Novel Carbon Materials", the Ufa State Aviation Technical University and FSUE CRISM "Prometey" in the following week. During the visits, Prof. Huang reached consensus with his Russian counterparts on major issues and signed several strategic agreements with the Russian universities and institutions after in-depth discussions on university governance, talent cultivation and research collaborations.
