Prof. Guo is mainly engaged in the research of microfluidics and bio-based materials. He is in charge of national and provincial level research projects, such as the National Key R&D Program, Key National Natural Science Foundation of China Program, Science and Technology Innovation Project of National Defense of the CPLA, etc. He has cooperated with many enterprises, including the China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation and VT Group, U.K.. Industrial transformation of the technologies has been achieved in chemical, material, and pharmaceutical industries. He has published more than 200 papers inProg. Polym. Sci., Appl. Catal. B-Environ., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Nat. Commun., Chem. Eng. J.He has obtained more than 20 international invention patents from the U.S. and U.K. and more than 170 invention patents from China as the first author. He has won a Second Prize of the State Technological Invention Award and two First Prizes of Provincial and Ministerial Level Award as the first author, Feng Xinde Polymer Prize, International Outstanding Young Chemical Engineer Award, Green Science and Technology Award, etc. He has also been in charge of the key projects of Jiangsu Province’s Educational Reform, and won the Special Award of Jiangsu Province’s Teaching Achievements. His students have won the Gold Award of “Internet+”.

In 2014, Prof. Guo was selected as one of the “Six Talent Summits” in Jiangsu Province, and in 2018 and 2022, he was selected as one of the “333 High-Level Talents Training Project” in Jiangsu Province. He is also Director of the Chinese Society of Biotechnology, Director of the Chinese Association of Young Scientists And Technologists, Executive Director of Jiangsu Province Biotechnology Association, and Standing Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial Youth Federation, etc. He also sits on the editorial board ofGreen Synthesis & CatalysisandBioresources & BioProcessing.
