Academic Achievements

Professor WANG Jianpu has worked inSamsung ElectronicsandCavendish Laboratory. His main achievements include: 1) He pioneered in the research of perovskites LEDsanddemonstrated the highest reported peak external quantum efficiencies (EQEs) for perovskite LEDs at near-infrared and green wavelengths by interfacial engineering. 2) He proposed self-organized multiple-quantum-well perovskites, leading to a solution-processed perovskite LED with a high EQE of 11.7%. This work has been selected as “Top Ten Scientific and Technological Progress in China's Colleges and Universities”. 3) He found the efficiency roll-off in perovskite LEDs is mainly due to luminescence quenching which is caused by non-radiative Auger recombination. By increasing the width of quantum wells to suppress this effect, the EQE can be further improved to 12.7%. 4) He reported a solution-processed submicrometre-scale structured perovskite to efficiently extract light from the device, resulting in a milestone in perovskite LEDs with EQE of 20.7%. 5) He successively solved the lifetime issue of OLED display panels, which has been widely adopted in OLED displays. He has published ~100 papers in journals includingNature, Nature Photonics, Nature Communications, Physical Review LettersandAdvanced Materials.Additionally, he has been issued 7 US patents,1 Japan patent and 1 Korea patent.
