On the afternoon of September 8, NanjingTech held the 38thTeachers`Day Celebration Meeting and New Semester Work Conference in Boya Hall.
At the conference, the exemplary individuals and groups who have been working in higher education for three decades and serving NanjingTech for three decades, as well as those who have made excellent achievements in talent cultivation, scientific research, discipline construction, and party building over the past year, were honored. NanjingTech authorities awarded medals and honorary certificates to the winning groups and teachers. Under the leadership of Prof. FENG Xin from the School of Chemical Engineering, the representatives of new teachers swore an oath to carry out their duties faithfully.
Prof. JIANG Juncheng, President of Nanjing Tech University, reviewed the work in the first half of 2022 and set forth explicit requirements for the new semester. Prof.JIANG pointed out that in order to achieve great success, the most important thing is to run our own affairs well. We shoulduphold the leadership of the CommunistPartyof China, cultivate thetalentswith innovative and entrepreneurial abilities and interdisciplinary and integrating abilities,andpromoteinternational cooperation and high-quality development.In the process of comprehensively promoting thereformand developing higher education in NanjingTech, we need toimprovecampus governance, and strengthen basic research and strategic scientific and technological capabilitieswithtop standards,concrete actions,andendless energy.
Prof.RUI Hongyan, Secretary of the CPC University Committee,made the followingthree pointswith the regard tothe work in the second half of 2022. He pointed out that we shouldadhere to the socialist orientation in running schools, and teachers should bear in mind their mission of cultivating talent for the Party and the State; we shouldalignour thinking, and work collectively.With determination, endurance, and the courage to take on tough challenges, we could promotethe high-quality development ofNanjingTech.
Prof. WU Shenghong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, stressed that all teachers should always cling to the underlying values of the new era, abide by the Party’s education policy, andfoster virtue through education. We should focus on cultivating contemporary talents who are responsible for national rejuvenation andstrive to promote the development ofNanjingTech.
