On the morning of June 13th, the bilateral meeting between NanjingTech and University of Zaragoza was held in Room 119 of the Mingzheng Building. Rafael de Miguel, Co-director of CIUZ, Juan Jose Marcuello Pablo, Vice-dean of theSchool of Engineering and Architecture, Luis Rubio, President of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in China, as well as the directors of the International Office, the School of Electrical Engineering and Control Science, and the School of Overseas Education attended the meeting.
Professor Rafael de Miguel expressed appreciation for the practical cooperation between the two universities, believing that cooperation between the two can help achieve mutual benefits. He also hoped that both sides would continue to leverage their respective resource advantages, strengthen practical cooperation in various fields, and facilitate exchanges and mutual learning in higher education between China and Spain in the future. The two sides exchanged views on issues such as the preparation of the Confucius Institute Council, mutual visits between the two universities, management coordination of Sino-foreign cooperative education programs, and joint cultivation of students.
After the meeting, Vice President Ling Xiang met with the delegation. He fully affirmed the achievements made by both sides in the construction of Confucius Institute, scientific research cooperation, and teacher-student exchanges. He also pointed out that it is necessary to make concerted efforts to successfully run the dual degree program of electronic control, further expand scientific research cooperation in the fields of new energy and advanced materials, and promote the internship and training of students in Spanish companies.
Professor Rafael de Miguel gave a presentation on the joint masterprogram between the two universities, and Professor Juan Jose Marcuello Pablo delivered a demonstration course for students of related disciplines. It is believed that this meeting will be conducive to further promote the construction of the overseas Confucius Institutes of NanjingTech and the establishment of Sino-foreign cooperative education programs between the two universities.
