Research Interests

The main research direction of the laboratory is the preparation and application of functional chemicals, including solving problems from enterprises. It mainly covers the following:

(1) Surfactants

a. Structural design and synthesis of functional surfactants: starting from the relationship between structure and performance, design and synthesis of surface active agents with specific hydrophobic and hydrophilic chain structures according to application requirements.

b. Formula design of emulsion and emulsifier: Design the overall composition of emulsion according to the application requirements of emulsion and emulsification method. Special attention is paid to the emulsification of silicon polymer compounds with high molecule weight and Pickering emulsion.

c. Application of surfactants: mainly including the application of surfactants in sterilization, penetration, corrosion inhibition, cleaning and surface modification of solids.

(2) Preparation, modification and application of ultrafine powders

a. Study on the effective control of particle size, morphology.

b. Study on surface modification and dispersion in different polar solvents of particles.

c. Application of ultrafine powders in coatings, pigments, catalysis, daily chemicals and other fields.

(3) Development of other functional chemicals, such as flocculants, corrosion inhibitors, water-based lubricants, etc.; Research on the regulation of the comprehensive performance of formulated products mainly aimed at the coordination between the special function and the performance requirements of commercial products.
