Research Interests

His main research interests covers mass transfer and separation, resources and circulation, and microporous materials. His research field includes membrane process and its engineering applications, synthesis and application of dendritic macromolecules, water treatment and resource recovery, inorganic materials and functionalization applications.

Academic achievements

He has undertaken the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National 863 Program, the National Key Research and Development Program, the Natural Science Foundation of Jiangsu Province, and participated in the national 973 Project and the National Key science and Technology Projects undertaken by the Membrane Science and Technology Center.

He has obtained more than twenty authorized patents and published more than 70 academic papers. He has won two second prizes of National Science and Technology Progress Award, one second prize of the Ministry of Education Technology Invention Award, one second prize of the National Energy Science and Technology Progress Award, one first prize of Nanjing Science and Technology Progress Award, and one first prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of the China Membrane Industry Association. One technical achievement has passed the appraisal of the Jiangsu Science and Technology Department. He undertook the process package design, engineering construction and long-term operation of a 40,000 t/d wastewater zero discharge project with good effectiveness, successfully. Its process and engineering are the first in the world. He has been committed to the technical engineering application of high-difficulty wastewater treatment and resource recovery for a long time. He has rich experience in the application of large-scale membrane engineering, has solved several important engineering problems, has promoted the scientific and technological progress of related industries, and has achieved remarkable technical, economic and social benefits.
