Academic Achievements

Associate Professor Dr Xiao-mei Lu came from Lanzhou of Gansu province, China. Dr Lu received her B.S. degree from the Department of Polymer Science of Fudan University (FDU). Dr Lu went on and earned her M.S. from the Chemistry Department of the National University of Singapore (NUS) then pursued her Ph.D. at the Institute of Information Materials of Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications (NUPT). She successfully fulfilled various research and management duties while at FDU and NUPT, during which she held positions of National Ministry of Science Technology and, Science and Technology Department of Jiangsu Province respectively. From 2012 till now, she has been working as a research fellow in the Institute of Advanced Materials of Nanjing Tech University (NJTech). Dr Lu is also the Deputy Director of the Office of the President of Nanjing Tech University. Since the summer of 2015, Ms. Lu has been accountable for the responsibilities of setting up the "Institute of Higher Education Development (IHED)" as the Deputy Director. In her role as a scientist, she researched water-soluble conjugated polymer luminescent materials and had published over 20 papers in SCI journals, managed 3 projects for National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), and received 2nd Prize honor of the Scientific and Technological Progress Award of Jiangsu Province. Dr Lu continuously striving to contribute in area of social science, publishing several essays in newspapers or journals about the future of higher education and S&T innovation, while being in charge of 2 projects of Jiangsu social science. Dr Lu is currently a visiting professor at the Department of Radiology at Stanford University.
