Research Seminar of Dr.LIU FengfromLawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) Lecture Time: 10:00 on 31st May, 2016 Lecture Room: C501 of National Sicence Park Lecture Title:Characterizing Bulk Heterojunction Organic Photovoltaic Blends: Techniques, Physics and Progress LIU Feng Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) Biography Dr. Feng Liu obtained Ph.D in polymer science and engineering from University of Massachusetts in 2014 under the supervision of professor Thomas P. Russell, focusing on understanding the non-equilibrium structure of blended thin films. His expertise includes polymer science, synchrotron x-ray and neutron techniques and thin film electronic devices. He has coauthored more than 120 research papers and book chapters. His research interests include soft materials, energy science, biomaterials and surface/interface sciences. In this talk, Feng will focus on the characterization of bulk heterojunction organic photovoltaic blends. He will review basics of characterization methods, introducing observations on system basis, and summarizing general conclusions. The discussion will be talking about material crystallization, kinetics of phase separation and phase construction. It would be of interest to audience who work on conjugated polymers/molecules (both chemistry and physics), material blends and general functional soft materials. |
