IAM Sparkling Lecture XIII: Academician Henning Sirringhaus from Cavendish Laboratory, University of Cambridge Visited
Academician Henning Sirringhaus from Cavendish Laboratory, University of Cambridge, invited by Academician Huang Wei, visited Nanjing Tech University and delivered an academic lecture for IAM Sparkling Lecture on August 20, 2017. The seminar was held by Prof. Wang Jianpu, Deputy Director of Institute of Advanced Materials, in C501, Science and Innovation Building. Prof. Huo Fengwei, Prof. Lu Xiaomei and the attendees from Buffer Base for Overseas Talents (Institute of Advanced Materials, IAM) attended.
Academician Henning Sirringhaus delivered a lecture named as "Charge and Spin Transport Physics of Organic Semiconductors". He gave an overview over the physics of molecular and polymer semiconductors and discuss their relevance for applications in large-area electronics, thermoelectrics and spintronics. After the wonderful lectures, Prof. Wang awarded Prof. Henning Sirringhaus the IAM Sparkling Lecture Certificate.
As reported, Prof. Henning Sirringhaus, FRS, is the Hitachi Professor of Electron Device Physics at the Cavendish Laboratory and works on the charge transport, photo- and device physics of polymer and molecular semiconductors. He is co-founder of the spin-off companies, Plastic Logic and Eight-19 Ltd, commercializing organic transistor and organic solar cell technology, respectively.
