IAM Sparkling Lecture XIV: Professor Zhang Hua from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Visited
Professor Zhang Hua from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) visited Nanjing Tech University and delivered an academic lecture for IAM Sparkling Lecture on February 27, 2018. The seminar was held by Prof. Huo Fengwei, the deputy director of Institute of Advanced Materials, in C502, Science and Innovation Building. Prof. Lu Xiaomei, Prof. Liu Juqing and the attendees from Buffer Base for Overseas Talents (Institute of Advanced Materials, IAM) attended.
During the seminar, Prof. Zhang Hua summarized the recent research on synthesis, characterization and applications of two-dimensional nanomaterials in his group. Firstly, he introduced the synthesis and characterization of novel low-dimensional nanomaterials, such as graphene-based composites. After that, he demonstrated the applications of these novel nanomaterials in chemical and bio-sensors, solar cells, water splitting, hydrogen evolution reaction, electric devices, memory devices, conductive electrodes, other clean energy, etc. In the end of the wonderful seminar, Prof. Zhang Hua was awarded the IAM Sparkling Lecture Certifcate.
As reported, Prof. Zhang Hua is a well-known scientists in the field of material sciences. He has made outstanding contributions to the field of synthesis of ultrathin 2D nanomaterials, novel metal and semiconductor nanomaterials, and applications of clean energy. In Nov. 2014, he was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC). In 2015, he was elected as an Academician of the Asia Pacific Academy of Materials (APAM). In 2014, he was listed in the "Highly Cited Researchers 2014" in Materials Science, and also listed as one of 17 "Hottest Researchers of Today" and No. 1 in Materials and More in the world (please see the World's Most Influential Scientific Minds 2014 by Thomson Reuters, 2014). In 2015, he was listed in the "Highly Cited Researchers 2015" in Chemistry and Materials Science, and also listed as one of 19 "Hottest Researchers of Today" in the world (please see the World's Most Influential Scientific Minds 2015 by Thomson Reuters, 2015).
