The 11thChinese Optoelectronics Symposium
The 11thChinese Optoelectronics Symposium was solemn held in Nanjing Tech University on 17thDecember, 2015. This Symposium was organized by Nanjing Tech University in association with the National Collaborative Innovation Center of Jiangsu Advanced Biological and Chemical Manufacturing, Buffer Base for Overseas Talents (Institute of Advanced Materials) of Nanjing Tech University, Key laboratory of Flexible Electronics in Jiangsu province and Key Laboratory for Organic Electronics & Information Displays (KLOEID). The chairs of the Symposium are Academician Chu Junhao, researcher of the Shanghai Institute of Technical Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Academician and President Huang Wei while the co-chairs are Prof. Huang Ru from Peking University and Prof. Zhang Rong from Shandong University.
During the short opening ceremony, the chairs of the symposium, Academician Chu Junhao and Academician Huang Wei, and Prof. Yang Zhizhong from Taiwan University reviewed the glorious history of Chinese Optoelectronics Symposium in past 20 years. Academician and President Huang Wei expressed his wishes to the Symposium and talked about the origins with the Symposium. He also pointed out that with the meeting of thecross-straitleadership and the convoking of Cross-Strait Entrepreneurs (Zijin Mountain) Summit, the Symposium held in Nanjing reflected its far-reaching significance. It reflected the further comprehensive political mutual trust, economic interchange and science and technology cooperation between Taiwan and Mainland. He believed that Taiwan and Mainland will realize the innovation-driven joint development with the increasing cooperation of academic basic research.
The 11th Chinese Optoelectronics Symposium lasted for four days and covered several main topics containing perovskite type solar cell, organic optoelectronic materials and devices, micro-nano electronics and solid state electronics, organic/inorganic hybrid material and devices, plastic electronics, flexible electronics, bioelectronics and other frontier fields in optoelectronics. The Symposium presented 29 wonderful seminars with frequently spotlights and no empty seats and attracted widespread attention of mainstream media. There are over 100 well-known or young scientists from universities and research institutions of Mainland and Taiwan, such as Taiwan University, National Tsing Hua University, Peking University, Tsing Hua University, Nanjing University, Shandong University, Xidian University, Institute of Semiconductors, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Nanjing Tech University and Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications with total attendance of nearly 250.
"The Symposium provided a large academic platform and introduced new academic hot spots," said Prof. Yang Zhizhong from Taiwan University in the closing ceremony. He also expressed his exclamatory about the rapid development of academic circle in the Mainland especially the rapid growth of young scientists.
The Chinese Optoelectronics Symposium is the bridge of cross-strait technology interchange and humane cooperation. It alsolays a good foundation of further comprehensive technology interchange and cooperation and the cultivation and development of emerging industries between Taiwan and Mainland.
