The 4th Golden Brick Forum of Chemistry and Materials

The 4th Golden Brick Forum of Chemistry and Materials was held in Nanjing Tech University from 25th to 28th December, 2015. The Academician and President Huang Wei, Academician Zhang Xi from Tsinghua University, Academician Yan Deyue from Shanghai Jiaotong University and Academician Jiang Lei from Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry CAS were chairs and co-chairs of this Forum. The 4th Golden Brick Forum was sponsored by Nanjing Tech University, Jiangsu National Synergetic Innovation Center for Advanced Materials (SICAM) and Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications (NJUPT), organized by Buffer Base for Overseas Talents (Institute of Advanced Materials), Key Laboratory of Flexible Electronics (KLOFE), International Research Center of Flexible Electronics (CoFE) and Joint International Laboratory of Flexible Electronics (LoFE), supported by Synergetic Innovation Center for Organic Electronics and Information Displays.

The Golden Brick Forum is outspoken, worthy of reflection and doubt, reminded by Academician Huang Wei and Academician Zhang Xi in the opening ceremony. In addition, Academician Zhang Xi pointed out that science and technology progress for debate. He encouraged the young scientists to face the failure, be willing to loneliness, love science and keep eternal science passion. Academician Huang Wei also pointed out that scientists must be calm, elegant and confident as well as exploring, querying, criticizing and colliding. He advocated pursuing the freedom of thought and challenging the common senses and authority.

The 4^thGolden Brick Forum of Chemistry and Materials invited over 50 outstanding scientists, who are the owners of Academician, Cheung Kong Scholars, the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, Excellent Young Scientist Foundation of NSFC or Thousand Talents Plan with the total attendance of nearly 300. During the Forum, they presented 66 wonderful seminars with frequently spotlights.

In the closing ceremony, Academician Yan Deyue deeply reviewed the first Forum held in Shanghai Jiaotong University which is so-called "The end of the world". He said it was just the original intention of Golden Brick Forum that taking the "Noah's Ark" of research to welcome the new beginning by criticizing and rethingking.
