Chinese-Russian Workshop on Laser Physics, Fundamental and Applied Photonics2017

Chinese-Russian Workshop on Laser Physics, Fundamental and Applied Photonics 2017 (CRWLP-2017), sponsored by Nanjing Tech University, Nankai University, Russian Academy of Sciences and Lomonosov Moscow State University, was solemn held in Nanjing Tech University in April 22-23, 2017. Prof. Huang Wei, Academician of CAS and President of NanjingTech, and 10 well-known Russian scientists including Prof. Aleksei Taichenachev, Corresponding Member of Russian Academy of Sciences and director of Institute of Laser Physics SB RAS, Prof. Victor Zadkov, professor of MSU and director of Institute of Spectroscopy RAS, Prof. Alexey Kalachev, director of Zavoisky Physical-Technical Institute of RAS attended the workshop as well as over 100 young scholars and graduate students from Peking University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Nankai University, Tianjin University, Yanshan University, Nanjing Tech University, Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Institute of Semiconductors CAS, National Center for Nanoscience and Technology and so on.

During the short opening ceremony hosted by Prof. Huo Fengwei, the deputy dean of Institute of Advanced Materials, Academician and President Huang Wei made a speech. He clarified that Chinese-Russian Workshop on Laser Physics, Fundamental and Applied Photonics has held for seven years and already become the significant communication and collaboration platform for young scholars in the field. In addition, Academician and President briefly introduced the abundant results achieved by the cooperation between Institute of Advanced Technologies (IAT), Institute of Advanced Materials (IAM) and Russian Scientists. Finally, he wishes the workshop a complete success.

During the Workshop, 22 excellent seminars attracted the sights of audiences in the fields of Flexible electronics, Nano- and femto-photonics, Organic optoelectronic materials, Physics of terahertz radiation, Nano optoelectronics materials, Modern tendency and advantages in solid-state lasers and laser systems, and Quantum and atom optics.

In the closing ceremony, Prof. Victor Zadkov of RAS and Prof. Song Feng of Nankai University reviewed the past workshops and expressed the wish to the Chinese and Russian scientists for making more and better achievements. In the end, Prof. Alexey Kalachev introduced the next workshop venue Kazan in Russia.

As reported, since initiated in 2010, Chinese-Russian Workshop on Laser Physics, Fundamental and Applied Photonics obtained the support from National Natural Science Foundation of China and related organization in Russia and attracted the attention from both Chinese and Russian scientists. The CRWLP-2017 was organized by Jiangsu National Synergetic Innovation Center for Advanced Materials, International Research Center of Flexible Electronics, Joint International Laboratory of Flexible Electronics (LoFE) and The Discipline Innovative Engineering Plan on Flexible Electronics ("Plan 111"), and co-organized by Institute of Advanced Materials, Institute of Advanced Technologies and Key Laboratory of Flexible Electronics.
