IAM
Institute of Advanced Materials (IAM) from Nanjing Tech University was founded in 2012. IAM originates from National University of Singapore, where the academic leader, Dr. Wei Huang, worked. In 1996, Dr. Huang, as a co-founder, established the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering, Singapore (IMRE). Then he built the organic optoelectronic materials team, one of the earliest teams in this field.
In 2002, Dr. Huang came back to China with his team and constructed the Institute of Advanced Materials (IAM) as a "985" discipline innovation platform in Fudan University. In 2006, he together with his team moved to Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications. In 2007, Key Laboratory for Organic Electronics & Information Displays was approved by Jiangsu province. In 2010, the key laboratory was authorized as a national cultivation base by Minister of Science and Technology.
In July, 2012, the IAM team continued to develop new research areas in Nanjing Tech University and proposed a new development pattern which is "a body two wings, research areas complementary, and resources sharing". In 2013, the sub-center of "Organic Optoelectronic Materials and Devices" became an important part of Jiangsu National Synergetic Innovation Center for Advanced Materials (SICAM) under Nanjing Tech University.
