Short Biography:
Mohammad Azad Malik has been working on the synthesis of metal-organic/organo-metallic complexes and their use as precursors for the preparation of semiconductor nanoparticles, or the deposition of thin films, for the last 25 years. He has published over 170 peer reviewed articles in leading international journals and 9 book chapters. He is a reviewer for many international journals and an invited reporter for the Royal Society of Chemistry’s Specialist Periodical Report (SPR) on Nano-Science and Engineering on materials for solar energy. He has assisted in the management and delivery of five Royal Society programmes in Africa. These include a Royal Society programme for an historically black South African University (University of Zululand 1996-2008), Royal Society Leverhumle Programmes at University of Dar es Slam, Tanzania (2010-2012), Ghana, KNUST, Kumasi (2011-2014) and , Dar es Slam (2014-..), and a DFID programme involving South Africa, Ghana and Cameroon (2013-). He was also involved in the management and delivery of a British Council programme (2010-2012) with India. He has managed visiting students and staff from Ghana, Tanzania, South Africa, Cameroon, India, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia. MAM also leads several students both managing their work and research allocations. In 2003 MAM received a WCPEC PAPER AWARD from 3rdWorld Conference on Photovoltaic Energy Conversion “The Quantum dot Concentrator: Theory and Results”, Osaka, Japan. MAM is a member of Royal Society of Chemistry (MRS CChem) since 1992.
