On the morning of March 15, accompanied by President QiaoXu and Vice President Gong Jianming of our university, a group led by Ms. Therese Healy, Consul General of Consulate of Ireland in Shanghai, and Mr. Pat Coman, Director of Development Department of Institute of Technology, Tallaght, together with the principals of relevant departments and faculties as well as representatives of teachers and students of our university, participated in the “Ireland Day” celebration activities hosted by Vice President Gong Jianming.

President QiaoXu briefly reviewed in his speech the collaborative process and achievements between our university and Institute of Technology, Tallaght, and expressed his sincere thanks to the representatives of all parties concerned about the development of Sino-foreign cooperative education and undertakings of our university. He pointed out that the Sino-Irish cooperative education program has established a link for cultural exchanges and for lasting friendship between the two countries. The two institutes have jointly cultivated a large number of internationalized and high-quality professionals. With the continuous improvement of our comprehensive strength, the two institutes will surely open up a broader prospect for the development of Sino-foreign cooperation.

Mr. Pat Coman described the special significance of St. Patrick's Day to Irish people, believing that the ten-year sincere cooperation between the two institutes had achieved the expected results, and looking forward to further deepening of the cooperation in the future. Consul General Therese Healy expressed that he is proud of the cooperation results achieved by the two institutes, which has played a very important role in promoting cooperation and friendship between the two countries.
