On the afternoon of March 12, Ms. Therese Healy, the Consul General of Consulate General of Ireland in Shanghai, Ms. Stella Browne, the Director of International Affairs Office on Tallaght Campus, Technological University Dublin, and their entourages, accompanied by Cui Yihu, the Deputy Party Secretary, and Niu Shengjie, the Vice-President, participated in the celebration of Ireland Day with the heads of relevant departments of our university and the college as well as the representatives of teachers and students. The Vice-President Niu Shengjie hosted the event.

The Deputy Party Secretary Cui Yihu first congratulated Institute of Technology, Tallaght on its merger with the other two institutes and renaming Technological University Dublin. He said that our university and Institute of Technology, Tallaght have cooperated for twelve years, starting from scratch and forging ahead, building a link of cultural exchanges between China and Ireland and cultivating envoys of eternal friendship. Finally, he expressed sincere appreciation for the concerns about the Chinese-foreign Cooperation in Running Schools and development of undertakings of our university taken by representatives of all parties, and looked forward to fruitful results of the SFCRS made by both universities.

Director Stella Browne said the establishment of Technological University Dublin was a milestone in the development history of higher education in Ireland. It is not only the first polytechnic university in Ireland, but also the largest Irish university. The cooperation with our university is an important part of international relations of Technological University Dublin. Let's look forward to a better future together.

The Consul General Therese Healy said that the achievements of the cooperation between the two universities are to be proud of and played a very important role in promoting cooperation and friendship between China and Ireland. She looked forward to a closer cooperation between the two universities in the future.

An Irish band, Geese in the Bog, brought a unique visual feast to the audience by performing instruments and songs.
