Recently, the results of 2019 Mathematical Contest in Modeling and Interdisciplinary Contest in Modeling (MCM/ICM) have been announced. The team of the College of Overseas Education has won one first prize and two second prizes. It is the successively fifth year for the College of Overseas Education to achieve good results since it initially participated in this international event in 2015. According to statistics, since 2015, the College of Overseas Education has accumulatively won one Finalist, four first prizes and four second prizes. Wherein, the Finalist achieved in 2017 has created the best result of our school in this international event.

The MCM/ICM is a top-ranking international contest of mathematical modeling, and one of the largest-scale and most famous contests for international university students, and it attracts the participation of nearly 10,000 teams of famous universities across the world every year. In order to cultivate students’ innovation and practice ability, the College of Overseas Education has issued a series of rewarding measures, and encouraged teachers and students to participate in various contents actively. The College pays much attention to the annual MCM/ICM, makes preparation for it with great care, and organizes the selection and training work in earnest. The mentoring teachers work with due diligence, give guidance to students with patience, creating conditions for the students to win the contest.

In recent years, the College of Overseas Education has continued to deepen the teaching reform, committed to the cultivation of complex international talents, and has been widely recognized by the society for the training quality. Of the existing six undergraduate programs of Chinese-foreign cooperation in running schools, four have been selected as Demonstration Projects of High-level Chinese-Foreign Cooperation in Running Schools in Jiangsu Province, and the College ranks the leading place among the provincial universities and colleges for the quantity and proportion of the selected projects. The good results won by the students of the College of Overseas Education in the MCM/ICM have won honor for the College on the international stage, and meanwhile, symbolize that the mode and quality of the College’s Chinese-foreign cooperation in running schools are effectively verified.
