Sept. 19thmarks the beginning of report and registration for the international students of 2019. More than 200 freshmen from over 30 nations will come to NanjingTech in the next few days and start their study and life here in the beautiful campus of Jiangpu.
A few days ago, NanjingTech had a meeting to coordinate the welcome and reception of the freshmen of 2019. Prof. NIU (Vice President) hosted the meeting and made a plan on the overall work. In order to make the welcome and reception smoothly and in order, relevant departments and colleges are required to work in coordination and make preparations in the areas of publicity, safety guarantee, traffic control and logistics.
In order to carry out the one-stop service for freshmen to report and register, the College of Overseas Education (COE) set up two registration desks with staff from departments of finance, campus safety, logistics and COE working on site. The colleges also played an important role in welcoming the new students. Besides, volunteers, both Chinese and international ones, also joined in the work of helping freshmen hand in the materials, check in, purchase insurance and pay for the fees.
In the morning, Prof. NIU came to the site in person and learned the situation about the report and registration. He talked with the staff and volunteers and appreciated their hard work.
Fouad, one of the freshmen, comes from Morocco and is going to study for the Master degree in Mechanical Engineering. He said that learning professional knowledge and skills is significant and he hopes, after years of study in NanjingTech, to know more about Chinese culture and become the ambassador for the exchange between the two nations.
After the report and registration, COE will offer the guidance courses for the freshmen and help them to adjust to the new environment as quickly as possible.
