In the morning of Oct. 14th,Prof. QIAO Xu (President) and Prof. NIU Shengjie (Vice President) had a meeting with the delegation from Namibia, which consisted of officials from Ministry of Education, Art & Culture of Namibia, University of Namibia and the Confucius Institute. Representatives of College of Overseas Education attended the meeting.
Prof. QIAO welcomed the delegation from Namibia. He introduced the disciplinary advantages and features of Nanjing Tech University (NanjingTech). He hopes that NanjingTech and University of Namibia (UNAM) can build a comprehensive cooperation in talents cultivation and scientific research so that both sides will make contributions to the people-to-people exchanges and building a China-Africa Community with A Shared Future.
Prof. NIU introduced the history and international status of NanjingTech. He pointed out that NanjingTech values international cooperation and has achieved numerous outcomes in China-foreign cooperation in education, joint cultivation and international students' cultivation. There is a bright future for the collaboration between both universities.
Mr. Patrick Simalumba (Director of National Institute for Educational Development), Mr. Paulina Uugwanga (Assistant Pro Vice Chancellor) and Ms.Alfons Mosimane (Assistant Pro Vice Chancellor) expressed their heartfelt thanks to NanjingTech for the warm welcome and thoughtful reception. They said that China has impressed the whole world with such rapid development. NanjingTech, as one of the universities in China, also impressed the whole delegation with its capabilities in cultivating talents and conducting scientific researches. The advantage of NanjingTech in engineering is highly consistent with the construction and development in Namibia. UNAM looks forward to the delegation from NanjingTech coming to Namibia and starting bilateral cooperation in teacher and student exchanges, joint-cultivation in Master and PhD students, teacher training and cultural communication.
The delegation paid a visit to the HSK test center and state key lab before the meeting and spoke highly of the building of both sites and the cooperation between teaching, research and industrialization of NanjingTech.
