The Detailed Rules have been formulated in accordance with the Regulations of the People’s Republic of China on Academic Degrees, the Provisional Implementation Measures of the Regulations of the People’s Republic of China on Academic Degrees, the Administrative Measures of the University for Enrollment and Training of International Students, and the Regulations on the Student Status Management of Foreign Undergraduate Students of Nanjing Tech University, and in combination with the actual situations of the University’s foreign undergraduate students (hereinafter referred to as “Foreign Students”).

Article 1Foreign Students simultaneously meeting the following conditions within the regulated period of schooling may file an application for bachelor’s degree to the Bachelor’s Degree Assessment Committee of the University:

(1) Observing China’s laws and rules, and the University’s rules and regulations;

(2) Having the qualification for graduation;

(3) Reaching corresponding level of Chinese language:

Foreign Students shall pass Chinese Language Test HSK4 if taught in English, and shall pass Chinese Language Test HSK5 if taught in Chinese;

(4) Meeting the other conditions affirmed by the Bachelor’s Degree Assessment Committee.

Foreign Students having graduated or completed schooling may apply for bachelor’s degree to the Bachelor’s Degree Assessment Committee within one year after graduation or completion of schooling.

Article 2After being admitted to the University and before applying for academic degree, Foreign Students falling under one of the following circumstances will not be granted the bachelor’s degree:

(1) Violating China’s laws and rules;

(2) Having been given punishment of demerit recording and more serious punishments, which have not been cancelled;

(3) Being verified to commit behaviors of academic plagiaris and academic cheating;

(4) Being affirmed by the University’s Academic Degree Appraisal Committee to be disqualified for accepting academic degree.

Article 3Work Procedures:

(1) Graduates meeting conditions file an application for academic degree to the Academic Degree Appraisal Branch Committee of their own academic department;

(2) The Academic Degree Appraisal Branch Committee of their own academic department examines graduates’ qualification to be granted the bachelor’s degree, and submits a shortlist of the students who will be granted the bachelor’s degree, a shortlist of the students who will not be granted the bachelor’s degree, and relevant materials to the Department of Teaching Affairs;

(3) The Department of Teaching Affairs re-examines the materials of qualification for bachelor’s degree, and submits the re-examination results to the University’s Bachelor’s Degree Appraisal Special Committee, which, after examination, will be brought forward to the University’s Bachelor’s Degree Appraisal Committee for approval.

Article 4The University strictly executes the national regulations on management of the academic degree of higher education and the information of academic degree granting. The issue time of papery certificate is up to the actual time, and the electronic registration time of certificate will be filled out according to the superior education management department on the electronic registration of certificate. Any students violating national regulations on student enrollment or obtain academic degree by playing tricks, no matter when being discovered, will not be issued the academic certificate, or will be cancelled the academic degree, with the cancellation of academic certificate announced, and reported in written form to the superior education management department if having been granted the academic certificate.

Article 5If an academic certificate is lost or damaged, the University may provide corresponding “Certificate of Academic Degree” upon Foreign Students’ personal application and verification of the academic degree. The Certificate of Academic Degree will note the serial number of the original Academic Certificate, etc., and shall have the same legal force as the academic certificate.

Article 6The Detailed Rules are applicable to all Foreign Students of the University.

Article 7The Detailed Rules will be implemented since the date of issuance.
