In particular,Chemical Engineering and Technology and Materials Science and Engineering tie for the 1st with other universities in Jiangsu Province. In September 2021, Nanjing Tech University ranked top 1‰ in ESI (Essential Science Indicators) Rankings and the 56th among universities in Mainland China. Five disciplines, i.e. Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, Biology and Biochemistry, and Environmental Science and Ecology ranked top 1% in ESI Rankings. Among them, Chemistry and Materials Science entered top1‰ in ESIRankings. In September 2021, Nanjing Tech University tied for the 50th-72nd in Times Higher Education World University Rankings with other universities in Mainland China. In December 2021, Nanjing Tech University ranked the 32nd among universities in Mainland China in Nature Index 2021 Tables.
